About me

10 years of shipping

Senior software engineer. Java, Spring and Python on banking and fintech systems across Brazil, the US and Europe. Ten years building software, after five in systems analysis and infrastructure, which is why I can follow a failure from the API all the way down to the mainframe. I build the kind of systems people and money quietly depend on.

Banking & Financial Compliance

  • Built a personal LLM-assisted incident-triage tool on my own initiative (later taught to the team), using the internal GitHub Copilot API over a curated, indexed knowledge base of past incidents and RCAs to generate Splunk queries on demand and surface related prior incidents, cutting average triage from ~1h to ~20min (based on JIRA metrics). The tool investigates and recommends; a human decides and acts.
  • Led end-to-end investigations across the full transaction stack (Apigee, load balancer, NGINX, OpenShift, PCF, Java APIs, VMX mainframe), correlating evidence across layers and producing remediation documentation that closed recurring root causes across multiple banking clients.
  • Designed and developed RESTful APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger) for banking, fiscal and accounting compliance across Brazil and LATAM, owning the contract across cross-functional teams during scope and integration definition.
  • Operate independently across off-hours and weekend support rotations, resolving complex issues on infrastructure shared across multiple banking applications.

Cross-industry software delivery

  • Embedded in a team of 8 engineers across 5 concurrent client projects (fintech, retail, internal SaaS) under Agile/Scrum, gave technical direction, reviewed PRs alongside senior architects, and mentored 3 juniors who were promoted to mid-level during my tenure.
  • Designed and delivered full-stack solutions in Java, Python, Node.js, React and React Native (iOS/Android), adapting the stack to each client's problem space.
  • Built and maintained apps on PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis, applying MVC and microservices patterns to keep services independently deployable and observable.
  • Wrote unit and integration tests as a default part of delivery, baking TDD and CI/CD into the pipeline to keep regressions out of production and cut manual QA overhead.
  • Built CDC/ETL pipelines in Node.js and Next.js across heterogeneous sources, built-in observability and replayability dropped reconciliation incidents from weekly to near-zero.

Multi-client software delivery

  • Delivered projects for multiple US clients across diverse industries in Java, Python, React, C# and Node.js, switching context between codebases and business domains within the same week.
  • Worked closely with clients across the full lifecycle, requirements, technical solutions, time/cost estimates and delivery, across concurrent engagements under Agile/Scrum.
  • Acted as the technical bridge between non-technical stakeholders and engineering, translating ambiguous business needs into deliverable scope and surfacing risks early.
  • Contributed to architecture and technology choices on each project, balancing client constraints, timelines, scalability and long-term maintainability.
  • Built and maintained services on AWS and Linux with messaging/queueing patterns for loosely-coupled, independently scalable components.

Banking

  • Backend and integration work at a Brazilian retail bank, Java and Spring Boot services wired through Apache Camel across internal systems.

Retail / Insurtech

  • Tech-led the digital insurance product embedded in the retail checkout: online policy issuance, digital signature, and the full evidentiary/authentication flow, delivered end-to-end as a fully digital experience.
  • Designed the flow for accessibility: a low-friction, single-flow UX so non-technical and elderly customers could add insurance to a purchase without navigating multiple pages or complex steps.
